lyrics

when the monkey took the jungle
he grabbed a ripe banana and he used it as a hammer
and he built himself a cross
and all the other monkeys, they held onto the young ones
and they told them not to worry
and they told him what he'd done

oh but i
felt much worse, felt much worse, felt much worse, oh
i've felt much

and he went right to the highway
stood upon the overpass and in his head he did the math
of the women that he loved
and he thought about his children
and how he'd never see them because the state judicial system they told him she had won

oh but i, seen much worse
seen much worse, i seen much worse
oh, i seen much

and he saw the ground was falling
and sky was getting higher, and in his hand started a fire
and he threw a fireball
but land was made of water, and the ball was just a dud
and it hit me with a thud, and it took out all my blood

oh but i, felt much worse
felt much worse,
oh i felt much

and the monkey lost the fight
because he never did what's right
and he fell just like a leaf, onto the black street
and he never seemed to twitch
when they all called him a dirty bastard

and the monkey must evolve because he never tossed a ball
so he gathered all he had and he
fell a little faster
